How to Become a Contributing LIA Partner
The Local Incentive Award (LIA) Program is available to public sector agencies that support nutrition education activities for low-income populations. Non-profit agencies that receive public funding or cash donations may be eligible to participate in the program. AzNN also uses other sources of funds to provide nutrition education.
Applications for the LIA Program are made available annually to any organization or agency in Arizona that has access to non-federal public funds not currently being used as a local share or match for any other program. LIA Program funds must be used for nutrition education programs, services and events that target people who receive or are income eligible to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Funding is not capped, nor is it competitive, but applications must be approved.
The following information will help determine your eligibility and application process.
- Contact the Arizona Nutrition Network office to request materials and/or information.
- Attend the annual Application Training. The Application Training is held around February every year.
- Submit your application for review in March.
- Your application will be reviewed for approval. All AzNN-approved applications are sent to USDA for final approval.
